It is not a cache drive it is one of these.

INTEL Optane is a cache unit. You cannot install an os on it. Using as OS drive is never an option.

Why not just get an m2 nvme pcie drive for the OS.  For less than half this price you can get an M2  nvme drive thats faster and with more than 4x the storage capacity.

PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4  drive requires GPT partition  UEFI Secure boot off and F6 mass storage Drivers Intel® RST/Application version 17.5.2.1024 or later for the OS to "SEE" a drive to install on.

• Drives that are Type Dynamic aren't supported. Drive must be in Type Basic as seen in Disk Management (Windows logo + x and select Disk Management).

This would help with installing the the OS onto the drive, but I am concerned that the system isn't picking up the drive at all even as a data drive.
