Using a DELL SATA Drive in my PC

Hi,

I have purchased a DELL 3.5" 4TB drive on eBay. When the drive arrived I realised that the connector was different to my normal SATA configuration. Is there such an item as and adapter that will allow me to connect this drive internally to my PC using the normal SATA power supply and cables.

Thanks

specific Alienware Desktops model? Dell-Admin>

Dell does not manufacture sata drives. Ebay is the worst place to buy new hardware. Buy drives from a reputable retailer.

I just looked on eBay to see what you might have received and saw several Dell 4TB 7.2K SAS Hard Drive 3.5'' that were being sold and identified as SATA drives.  If that's what you purchased, it will never fit in a standard Dell desktop, they are meant specifically for servers.

Others are mislabeled as Dell but the pictures shows them to be other brands that were installed in Dell computers.

Do you have the product/model number handy?
