Also keeping us waiting in the dark right before the release of Cyberpunk 2077 hurts. People need leading time to have the compatibility information and place orders for the new graphic cards which are out of stock everywhere and hard to come by at this point.

This is a extremely lazy and uninformative response. You know what people are asking and you take the laziest way out possible. I, and many others, are just asking something simple and it can be responded with something simple.

For example, if there is going to be no support, simply say it. If there is going to be support for Nvidia 3000/AMD 6000, say it. At the moment, Dell is treating all AGA owners like trash. On the AGA page, it says it is supporting newer GPU. We have not seen any support for newer GPU yet for something so simple.

Considering I have paid for 4 years of extended warranty on my laptop and it is soon ending (December/Jan) your response and Dell's image makes me want to not extend that at all. It should say "FAQ - Don't extend your warranty because we refuse to acknowledge support or back up our claims of future support".

Hi @MOCCOR  @DELL-Chris M evidently the Alienware 17 R5 is supported (in the FAQ list). Our 17 R5 AWCC does not detect any of the preinstalled Alien FX 2.0 devices and it is dark. The Alienware Graphics Amplifier (AGA) comes with a standard 1 year warranty. But our 17 R5 came with a 1 year RTB warranty. Our 1 year warranty is still running, but the 17 R5 faults were not fixed when recently returned under warranty.  There is no incentive to get more Dell Alienware products for gaming software that cannot be fully deployed.

My intent was not to be lazy and uninformative. My intent was to train Forum users in the "usage" of our available sticky FAQs. But OK, does this meet your approval?

"The soon to be EOL (end of life) AGA is not going to be validated by Dell with the RTX 3xxx video cards"

That is less lazy, but it is still deflecting. And deflecting constantly, the same thing over and over, is lazy. I've made a few threads on Dell forums, they mostly just got no responses at all. Which is annoying and stressful when trying to get support. But funnily even when people do get 'support', its just some deflecting or locking/deleting threads and that is just disrespectful.

I bought the AGA to use dGPU on them. It worked fine with the 2000 series, yes. But on the product page, it specifically says 2000 series and newer GPU. I have ordered a 3080 two months ago off Dell and the delivery date is like late January, so Dell definitely has the GPUs to make these AGA work and yet it isn't.

Furthermore, the Area 51M was also supposed to "support upgrades", according to the product page, and it doesn't. To me, the AGA buyers and users are being treated just like the Area 51M buyers/users. I am just one person extremely disappointed in Dell for their laziness and disrespectfulness of treating customers this way with sneaky and misleading sales tactics, but there are many more.

Dell needs to actually put time into a forum outside of these Dell forums, because then you will really see what problems people are having and how they feel. Why would I renew a extended warranty for 1500$ when I can buy a desktop for 1500$ That Actually Supports Upgrading Gpus?
