Area-51m R1, way under performing?

Recently my 9 month old Area-51m R1 has been really slow. Like super slow. Its got a 2070 and an i9.

I ran a benchmark   https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/38176327 and its in the 4th percentile.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Also I have been capped at 50 kbps with a 10 mbps internet service.

I dont have this model Alienware, but  I think the reason why your pc is under-performing it's because you laptop is thermal throttling. If you havent replaced the stock thermal paste on the cpu and gpu I
higly recommand that you do. Get Thermal grizzly kryonaut or Noctua NT-H-2. Good luck.

Welcome to the Dell Community @Broman96

Here are a few things you can try to increase system performance!!!

    1. In “System Properties” set  Performance to  “Adjust for Best Performance”
    2. Then adjust “Virtual Memory” as needed.  “More is better but it uses Hard Drive space”
    3. Reboot.
    4. Do a “Disk Cleanup”
    5. Then a “Disk Defragmentation” (Skip if SSD is installed)
    6. Open an Administrative Command Prompt and Run chkdsk c:/f    “Yes to run after reboot”
    7. Reboot.

    Best regards,

    U2

Hi @Broman96  welcome to this user to user forum.

Hopefully the Dell SupportAssist application has been installed and your version also has the option to troubleshoot slow performance, see following image.
