Area-51m R2, shipped with two different power adapters

So at last, can we use Area-51m R2 with 1x240W and 1x330W or can we use it with 2x330W or the top configuration is 1x180W and 1x330W?

Area-51m R1 thread started on September 1, 2019. Started a new Area-51m R2 thread. DELL-Chris M>

The online Area-51m R2 Setup and Specifications PDF shows the three power adapters that can be used. See the NOTE section.

@DELL-Chris M I've had this laptop since it came out & can confirm that Dell shipped it to me with 2 180w power supplies that I am still using to this day. I only just discovered that other people were getting it with different configurations. I have no idea what performance issues I've had, it's always worked and gamed great, I know it doesn't like to boot with just one of them.

Hi crimson. It is a great article, but it is for a51m r1 and my question is about r2. My mistake I didn't explaine well. It is 10900k processor and rtx 2080. The thing is I read some have 1x240 and 1x330 adapters and other 1x180 and 1x330. So do I louse if use 180 and 330 . Or can I use 240 and 330 without damage the laptop cause it is too much

The laptop can't really be damaged because its just recieving power and will only draw whats needed.

Now if you were using a 130w adapter or 180w by itself you might cause a brown out which is when you use too low of a current or voltage and wattage.

Quick Tip: If your laptop has voltage / charging issues, try shutting it down, unplugging power from laptop, hold power button down for 30 seconds to do a full reset!
