m15 R3, weird noise under keyboard

So I recently got my Alienware M15 R3 laptop, but noticed a high pitched noise coming from under the keyboard. Whenever I unplug my charger, the whining stops completely. I've seen online that it could have something to do with the power supply, and I was wondering if insurance will cover this kind of issue. It's driving me crazy listening to it. Any ideas or solutions would be amazing!

Hi @Shheenn  if your new m15 R3 is less than 30 days old, you should reject it.

If your new m15 R3 is more than 30 days old, and you have one of the many versions of Dell warranty, check to see what replacement options are covered. Tracking down the part making the noise from the outside can be misleading. Taking off the rear panel does not invalidate your Dell warranty. If your weird noise is an electrical fault, it may be a serious fault or you may just need a new charger plug and/or socket.

Hi @Shheenn  if your new m15 R3 has been registered by your vendor, the Dell warranty status can be found in Support for Alienware M15 R3. It should automatically detect your Service Tag and clicking on warranty will reveal which version of Dell warranty your m15 R3 has been given.
