Hi! This is my third Alienware but on this one I am somehow not getting the function key macros to do anything. I have a batch file execute when pressed. I set up a macro in the active default theme, and browsed for the batch file. I then dragged the macro onto the key at the top right, and click save theme. Unfortunately nothing happens when I press the key. I tried a bunch of stuff like textblock to diagnose, but none of them get executed when I press.
I've checked with a separate tool and the keys as such work, so it's not a hardware problem. I've reinstalled Alienware Command Center multiple times, no success...
Does anyone know what to do?
Thanks, Ulrich
P.S. By the way, I am able to change the keyboard colors, but the power button does not change color no matter what I set. DOes anyone know how to fix this - is it part of the same problem?
I would recommend installing an earlier version of the command center and see if that helps by going to this link: <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell> and see if that helps.

Quick Tip: If your laptop has voltage / charging issues, try shutting it down, unplugging power from laptop, hold power button down for 30 seconds to do a full reset!
this didn't resolve the issue I'm afraid. Also, interestingly the power button light will always stay the same color, no matter what I select. It will briefly flicker with the setting I select, but then go back to some blue color. So weird. Macro keys don't work either (note that the hardware actually works, I've tested and I can get a keyboard event in JS when I press the macro buttons
It seems like a command center issue. I recommend you install the first version of Alienware command center available to you’re computer and see if that helps the issue. Then I recommend installing the latest version.

I had the same problem for months and I have read every thread out there.
The solution i found was ONEDRIVE, I had my profiles stored in in the documents file in one drive, which I had moved and that started the mystery. SO after doing all the techy stuff above go into your one drive and delete the Alienware tacticx file and reinstall the whole dang thing again. It worked for me. You can PM me if you need help
