x17, power consumption

Thinking of getting the x17 with the 3070 GPU, but have read about extremely high power consumption. Is there a way to lower power consumption when not in gaming mode?

Thanks

    Hi @WriteScrip ,

There should be an option to switch to Integrated iGPU graphics on the function keys so you can save power and there is the option for power saving mode to be enabled so the laptop can be used for a long period of time without charge since you got the brand-new 12Th gen intel CPUs with Efficiency cores.

Quick Tip: If your laptop has voltage / charging issues, try shutting it down, unplugging power from laptop, hold power button down for 30 seconds to do a full reset!

The model that I'm thinking of getting his last year's R4, and I'm not sure if it has integrated graphics… In fact I thought I read that it doesn't.

It would be great to have a powerful gaming machine that I could also do work on without worrying about burning down the rain forest And my electrical bill. So I need to be certain that there are power saving options before I buy.

    Thanks!

Hi @WriteScrip , Here is a trick to make your decision easier:

Any laptop from alienware you look at make sure it has a blank F6 key and a F7 key that reads I/D GFX
