Backup names

Is it posible to give name to a backup so that when you list the backups from cli you get a traceable name in the label column.  As of now when I run a cli backup for sybase the backup is labeled #0.

thanks

Firstly, welcome to the forums and above all thank you for being an EMC customer.

Please consider moving this question as-is (no need to recreate) to the proper forum for maximum visibility.  Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and can go unanswered for a long time.

You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the upper-right.  Then search for and select the application you are referring to.  For instance, while from the information you provided I can't tell exactly, if it is in reference to NetWorker, search for and select: "NetWorker Support Forum".

    Hi JF,

You can set a label for a backup(Same with set a backup name).

When you perform a backup on Avamar GUI, you can click "More Option", then on Backup Name section, you can set a Backup label. Then you will very easy find the backup through CLI.
