Retire/Delete/Move client while replication is running

Does anyone know if there is a way I can retire, delete or move clients if replication is running?  I have replication split up into a couple of different jobs. My production machines get replicated first and then my development machines.  Replication runs all day, the full 23 hours and ends up having to terminate jobs each night.  From what I can tell, if a client is part of a domain that has any replication running, I then can't modify the client - such as retire, delete or move without canceling the whole replication job.  Is there a way to modify a client without having to cancel replication?

I remember reading a post at some point in time that Ian Anderson stated that it is best not to kick off replication manually - it's best to let Avamar start replication.

Yes I am using the replication plugin.  Since I am still somewhat new with Avamar I wasn't aware of any other way to do so.

I know this is a loaded question but have you happened to hear of a possible timeline the developers look to release this 'feature request' so to speak?

If you're using plugin-based replication, it's possible to retire, delete or move clients when replication is running as long as the clients are not part of a running replication group. Unfortunately, if all your replication groups are running non-stop, you will have to cancel the replication to make these changes.

The developers are aware that this limitation is causing usability issues and are planning on lifting it in a future release.

The other type of replication is the legacy cron-based replication.

    I can't provide a timeline, sorry.

Ah yea I didn't think to state what version I am running...I got upgraded from 7.0.2-47 > 7.1.0-370 two weeks ago.  Of course I had the same issue when I was running the earlier version.

No problem, doesn't hurt to ask.
