Celerra and RAID6

Does anybody know if Celerra (NS-480) supports RAID6 on FC/non-NAS or is RAID6 limited to the NAS/SATA side of the Celerra?

RAID 6 is supported for CX-series platforms that are running Release 26 or later.

    Hi,

First of all warm Welcome to the EMC support forums.

Celerra supports RAID 6 for both FC and SATA drives to be used for NAS - as well as for non-NAS hosts with SAN connectivity. The CLARiiON guidelines applies for the non-NAS portion - I understand you have NS-480 with FC option.

However, when you use FC or SATA drives with RAID 6 for Celerra - some defined RAID Group configuration needs to be followed which are -

    4+2 RAID6
    6+2 RAID 6
    12+2 RAID 6.

    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Sandip
