DR ---> Production and reverse

Hi,
I have a production and a DR storage. the data flows from production to DR in asyn system. the two sites r in different IP network. all my systems are connected with the production site. now i want to test my DR site if it is fully functional. I will promote the dr as production and my production as DR and reverse to previous system after testing the DR storage and DR hosts.
can anyone pls help me with the procedure and lightup if there is any risk involve with the data??
i m new to this area and i request u to have a glance on this.

    I assume you have iSCSI Storage replicating through Mirrorview/Async also with iSCSI..(?)

    If you want to test the dr site with a "graceful failover" you have to stop all I/Os to the primary system, wait for "synchronised" state on the Mirrors. (best way: remove the luns from the SGs after stopping IOs) ; promote the "secondaries"; create the appropriate storage groups at the DR Storage and assign the mirrored Luns.
    The way back works the same way...

    Your requirement sounds like a TEST DR rather than a LIVE DR.

    This also depends on what all being replicated from DR to PROD, what is the DR recovery plan you actually have and what all you really test.

    Isolate the DR from PROD , bring up DR environment as PROD ;do the test and cleanup the DR environment and bring back to old state.

    right thats depend test dr or live in dr
    i assume that for test dr , production site will continue server i/o request and after test u will resynchronize secondary site ( incase something happen to the production site during da test operation ; then u will lose some data )
    if live dr
    risk ---> if operation not completed successfully
