I have CX4-120 Fabric SAN and wonder if there is a way to connect 2 servers i have on the network to this storage over my network (IP over SAN)?

I believe the CX4-120 includes a number of iSCSI ports by default - have you checked the documentation that came with the array?

The CX4-120 base config from the factory is as follow :

    - 1 Backbend port per SP
    - 2 Frond end port per SP
    - 2 iSCSI port per sp

As you can see you have already iSCSI connectivity in your system normally the iscsi ports are located in the slot 1 of each sp and you can easily identify those because the slic is orange .

What Windows version are you using? If 2008, then iSCSI is included, prior to 2008 you needed to install the iSCSI software. For Windows you need to go to Microsoft's web site - do a search on iSCSI.

Have you looked on PowerLink for the EMC CLARiiON Host Connectivity Guide? There's a good explanation on using iSCSI - documentation for each host is available on PowerLink - you should check there.

    Yep!
I have the iscsi module at each SP with port 0 and 1.
so with my situation if i have 2 servers with one nic availabile at each what is recomended to do run from each server's NIC into one of SP's or run each server to a separate SP - A and B?
appricaite if you can send me some link how to instal and configure iscsi from my windows servers into my SAN CX4-120

I will suggest to use a Gbit network switch and connect all four ports of the clariion to it and than connect the servers to the switch , in this way you can benefit from multi path capability and you can use also PowerPath .

Be careful the NIC from the server can be logged only at one port per SP . In your case server 1 will be log in SPA iscsi port 0 and SPB iscsi port 0 and SERVER 2 will be log to SPA iscsi port 1 and SPB iscsi port 2.

For more info and documentation please refer to the following link :
