We've been experiencing a number of predicted disk failures on our Compellent SAN. We are on version 5.5.3. We've been having these predicted disk failures occur about every 2-3 weeks over the past couple of months. Has anyone else experienced similar issues?
None here. Are you operating your disks in a very hot environment?
Also Compellent has been getting people onto 5.5.10 (for non-series 40 controllers) in a hurry recently. We got a call regarding some critical disk firmware update that I believe prevented early failures
Our datacenter isn't in a hot environment. We are on the series 40 controllers. I see that version 5.5.6 is available for us. We have a CoPilot technician looking into this further, with the number of predicted failures we've seen. Maybe they will suggest upgrading to this code.
