Ordered 3/28 with a scheduled ship date of 4/4 and delivery of 3/29-4/5. Went into production on 4/1 and I get an email at 9:40PM EST 4/4 saying new delivery date is 4/19. I particularly selected components to have an early delivery. I'm just dumbfounded how 2 hours before the delivery date is when you notice that it will take 2 more weeks? Makes no sense to me. Once it went into production I assumed all parts are available and ordered other components from other vendors with expedited shipping so that things arrive relatively simultaneously.
Not my first delay with Dell, but certainly the most 'last minute'. I will have to see if anyone else can get me a machine in short order so I can cancel this order.
My pc was supposed to be delivered on the 29th of march but got delayed till tomorrow then just got delayed to the 25th my issue is the utter lack of communication they won’t even give you a reason and if you are going to delay my order don’t do it last minute this is the 2nd time it was delayed and the order was placed on the 11th of march so I have been waiting a month at this point.
I'm sorry to hear about the order being delayed multiple times. I want to check this for you. Please private message us the order number, name of the registered owner and email ID so that we can review this on your behalf.
The machine was finally delivered and booted with a failure of the VR Heat sink. Service set up an appointment and I did not receive the indicated scheduling email but rather received 6 communications the day before an appointment they scheduled on their own, all with different times, some starting at 4am. I spoke to the tech on the day of and he wanted to reschedule. I convinced him to come. On arrival he indicates that he has never worked on this type of machine and he has a hard time opening it. We both clearly realize that the replacement motherboard he brought is not the issue at all. In an attempt to correct the system (rather than order other parts and reschedule) he removes the heat sink in an attempt to re-seat it. He cannot get it to go back on. After trying for 20 minutes, he gets it on but not correctly while banging the main board and memory boards with it. He then spends 10 minutes trying to close the system. At this point the system no longer boots, even to the warning screen but immediately cycles up the fans indicating the heat sink is not attached to the CPU correctly. The system is now likely damaged as well so I call to arrange a replacement but they say it will take 20 days, so I get an RMA, pack up the system in the beat up packaging it arrived in, and hopefully FedEx picks it up today and according to phone support you guys will return my money but it will take something like 15 business days?
