I ordered a computer 12/30, with an estimated delivery date of 1/11. Not bad I thought. Since Fed Ex runs late where I live and I work second shift I would have to make arrangements to be home to sign for the package. I have ordered Alienware before and its always been delayed at least once. I watched the Order status the last few days and had text messaging alerts sent to my phone. I even called the night it should have been shipped and they told me it would be shipped within 2 hours because my delivery date hadn't changed. So I made arrangements to be home to accept it. When I got home I received a text message, and I thought that it would be the update for shipping. When I opened it, it said Dell Order Delayed, New delivery date of 1/18.
So I get in touch with with a chat rep on Sunday and they said they were Home sales and recommended I get in touch with Customer Support to see what the order was waiting on. So today I get in touch with Order Status on chat, they just said they saw a shortage on parts, and recommended I get in touch with Order Modification. If there was a shortage on parts then why was it on schedule until right before it should have been shipped, I thought.
Just wondering if anyone else has this kind of problems, because for me it seems par for the course when buying a new computer.
I also ordered a system, monitors, cables, etc. on the 30th of December and I got everything but the system. I have been waiting ever since for the actual tower. Tracking says Fed Ex received tracking information from Dell but when I called Fed Ex they said they never picked up a package from Dell. When I called Dell CS I got the run around for 3.5 hours today. NO ONE could help me. They could only see the same information as me on the Fed Ex website.
I emailed the original sales rep and asked him to look into it. He called and sounded a bit flustered. The thing is I ordered other stuff on the same order and got that. If it isn't resolved by tomorrow I may dispute it on my credit card and then they will put a hold on the entire amount of money. Let's see if that gets Dell moving in the right direction.
