Backup Job Details

I am trying to get a report with some very specific detail for SQL or Oracle backups. When I run a report for a SQL or Oracle server where I am running agent backups, and I use the Backup All Jobs report, or even try using the Backup Job Details source and create custom report, the job details only shows that it's a database backup (ex. SQL Server says the job run was "MSSQL"). Has anyone found a way to get a report that shows a deeper level, down to the database that was backed up?

    Hi,

This is the job name as returned by NetWorker, so is all DPA can show. I believe in NetWorker 9.0.1 it was enhanced so that the job/save set name now shows as "MSSQL: Database name". If you use this version then the database name should also show up in the job name in DPA.

I'm not sure this information is available to DPA.  In Avamar, we can set a (long) list of inclusions or exclusions in a Backup Job.  However, all of the fields in the Backup Job Detail reports lack the backup selection list.  I've tried a few custom reports, too, and I can't find a report that seems to include a field that would have this.

I suggest opening an SR with EMC Support and see if there's a way to get this information, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Let us know if that helps!
