Any Idea about this error

Hello Everyone,

I keep on getting same error from DX and every time I get my server gets freezed up and I have to bounce back the server to get things working again.

I dont know much about DX, if some one can help me out with this error that would be great help for me.

Error which I get:

DX Error (0F3C) [DM_FilterBackup.cpp,416] Meta-data export for extended drive F: encountered an unrecoverable error (1450, ERROR_NO_SYSTEM_RESOURCES, "Insufficient system resources exists to complete the requested service")

Thank You

Rama

Have you checked your memory and CPU usage?

Check the Event logs for more information at the time the error is created/happens.

Hey, I did. Have no clue. When I checked the CPU and memory usage, it was very minimal. I dont know whether is a DX problem or Server Hardware problem.

I even ran a manual backups for the meta-devices, but CPU usage was ok, not bad. But I dont know every week or in 10 days CPU utilization just reachs 100% and every thing gets freezed up. I always have to do a hard restart of that server.

    Thank You

If you have Anti-Virus software or Veritas backup software running, I would disable them and try running the export again. Make sure that the account your using is in the DX and MS Admin and User groups as well. I hope this helps.

Well spoke to DX Engineer yesterday, he couldnt see any error besides 1450, but he recommended to apply updated patch as the current version of DX 6.3 patch 1 has a possible Memory Management issue which causes memory leak. So right now planning a downtime for the server to install the updates patch 2 on the DX server. And lets see what happend, but will keep it posted if some thing goes bad.

And thanks for getting back on my issue.

    Thank You

    Hi Rama,

it does sound a bit like the trouble we had with DX. Is your DX storage close to the DX server itself, or is there a wan link in between? If it takes to long to fetch a file for a user, and multiple users start requesting files, the server locks up. This only happens when files are fetched in a normal way, so not by a direct read fetch.

    Regards,

    Paul

    Hey paul,

Sorry to get back to you late. Well my DX server is and media and exterdend disk are on the same server. I found out the issue that I was having. There was a bug on the current patch of DX 6.1. So I applied the updated and lastest patch and the upgraded the version, and it worked out fine for me. Now my server doesnt get freezed up and I dont need to bounce the server again and again because of it. But thanks every one for getting back to me
