Changing disk slots
Hi, my question is very easy to answer... The issue is that I want to move my full RAID 5 in my PowerVault MD1000 to the slots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 that at this moments is occupying the slots 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13. I need to know if this is possible? Can I expect a loss of information? Will my O.S. recognize the RAID 5 with any problem? I have to make some change in the configuration of the MD1000?? I only can make changes through the bios configuration, I can't use Open Manage in my O.S. (FreeBSD).

I'm using the PERC 6, but remenber that I can't use the Open Manage in my FreeBSD operative system...Scott Hanson

Doesn't matter which OS. It's a function in the hardware - on reboot after rearranging the drives you'll get a message informing you that they've been rearranged and if you want to accept it. Read all the messages carefully - and be sure to mark where their original location was in case you have to fall back.
