Hello, i'm trying to get informations from VCMDB through the following command but some node names are replaced with fc WWN, and fc name with WWN too, How to change this ? Is it a zoning information, a VCMDB information, a fc info, a host info ?
[root@hpxjy070>>symmaskdb -sid ... list database | more
Symmetrix ID : ...
User-generated
Identifier Type Node Name Port Name Devices
---------------- ----- --------------------------------- ---------
50060b000021d6fc Fibre hpxjy05 td3 0044:0045
50060b000021d388 Fibre hpxjy01 td3 0042:0043
50060b000024585a Fibre

in addition to Mark's suggestion ..if you have hosts that do not have symcli installed but you still want those systems to show up with meaningful names in the database you can use this command to manually rename them:
You can populate this field for each host which has VCMdb visibility by running "symmask discover hba -rename". This will place the hostname in the "User Generated" node name field. This is equivalent to the old "vcmfind" utility.
Ah good .. so you bring your e-book reader with you in the bus and read S.E. manuals while listening to Mozart ?? I'm pretty sure that your ipod is full of Mozart !!
i print them out ..easier to take notes on paper. No ipod for me (i purposely do not purchase products from Apple), i have an mp3 player by Sandisk, works like a champ and gazillion dollars cheaper then ipod.
