Warning
Be forewarned! Dell does not stock new batteries for three year old laptops. If a machine is returned for service and needs a battery, the battery offered will be a used item with a 90 day warrantee at the cost of $81. Labor (the only reasonable cost) is $49. Because batteries aren't covered by warrantee, a shipping charge of $39 is assessed to return to the owner a machine covered by the Premium Support Plus warrantee. (So, because the battery is on-board, shipping for the battery is assessed at the cost of shipping the entire unit.)

There are places that sell OEM replacement batteries (parts-people.com); beyond that, replacing the battery is a do-it yourself job (unlike some systems, where the battery is mounted with proprietary screws and adhesives, Dell's batteries are not).
As for replacement parts on just about anything more than three years old, it's pretty much the same with all notebook sellers.
