Hi, is it possible to smartfail a node and remiage it in a 3 node cluster?

I have a 3 node cluster i use for replication destination. When i try to upgrade firmware, i get a communication time-out on one of the nodes. When I connect directly to this node and run a simple isi status command, it seems to hang, but does complete and provide the output but only after about a minute and a half.

when i connect to one of the other nodes and run isi status, it completes immediately. While the node seems to function properly in the cluster, it obviously has some issue.

Any idea's on how to troubleshoot this? I would just smartfail and reimage but it's only a 3 node cluster, I don't know if that's possible without loosing all the data.

have you tried to turn it off and on again?

    have you filed an SR?

    Power drain the node first:

    - shutdown the node

    - Ensure the node is actually off

    - Remove both power cables and wait 1 minute

    - Plug power cables and boot the node

What you are describing sounds like a hung BMC/CMC which requires a power drain to fix.
