Firmware update 0% flash progress without progress

Hello,

On a Latitude E5540 I tried to upgrade BIOS from windows (A01 to A24). The progress is 0% from more than an hour without progress.

Do i have to wait moreor can i safely stop the update?

The laptop is out of warranty.

    Hello,

No, the screen is still with "Flash progress 0%" since Monday morning. I don't know if I can stop it without damage?

I couldn't wait for an answer any longer, so I removed the battery et windows has restarted.

I have tried to upgrade to A04 version (current A01) and the firmare flashing successed but the step "sending intel(r) management engine fw update" stopped to 0%.

For now I have given up on updating the bios

@LSUFAN51 How can I flash with the workstation being blocked?
