Latitude E6530 doesn't detect internal microphone (array?)
Windows 10 Device manager lists audio inputs: Rec. Playback (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) Speakers / Headphones (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) Sound, video and game controllers list: IDT High Definition Audio CODEC NVIDIA High Definition Audio (four times, positions 0-3) Internal speaker works fine. Web cam works. Microphone doesn't. Microphone privacy settings allows apps to access: Cortana/Desktop App Web Viewer/Microsoft Edge/Take a Test/Voice Recorder all On Mixed Reality Portal Off. Testing zoom, can't make microphone work, attendees can not hear me. Appreciate your help.
Thanks but alas. Settings/Sound/Input devices shows only Rec. Playback (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) in dropdown. No Microphone option, no list of choices?
For me when I go to Settings ---> Sound . And scroll down to Input, I see Microphone (High Definition Audio Device). Below that I see Test your microphone .
Sorry my bad confused BIOS with Settings/System/Sound/Input devices.
In Bios, System Configuration, Miscellaneous Devices YES there is a listing for microphone and it is enabled, as are the other misc devices (internal modem, module bay, media card etc.)
In Settings/System/Sound/Input devices, only Rec. Playback (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) appears. There is no separate drop down entry for a microphone.
Is the Rec. Playback IDT etc the sound card? Could it be bad since when I plugged earbuds into the jack the ear buds' microphone didn't pick up my sound either?
I am also running the latest version of Windows 10 Pro v1909
The E6230 that I have and the E6430 that you have both have the same audio controller IDT92HD93 , so you should be able to get the internal microphone to work.
