wire connection
I replaced the coin (CMOS) battery on my E6540. In the process it appears I disconnected a wire that I don't know what to connect it to. Close to the new battery are 2 wires (black & white) that connect to the WLAN card. There is a 3rd grey wire without a home. The PC boots & runs fine. I ran Support Assistant to see if it found any issues - all tests passed. I'm not sure what my next steps are. I have a picture I can upload if that helps. Any suggestions?

It's common to have extra wires that are not connected to anything. As long as everything is running fine, don't worry about it.
