Hi All 

This is the firs time I have ever posted to a companies blog but I have had such a horrible experience I needed to make it public hopefully in a effort to protect consumers from these products. I have been a dell consumer for over 10 years. For the longest time I have wanted an alienware laptop. I was finally able to purchase one(alienware 17) in July of 2015 and the experience has been truly terrible. Week 1 out of the box the laptop had a freezing issue linked to its CPU fan and video card. I spent well over 5 hours on the phone with dell to figure out the system needed a new video card. A new one after less the a couple of weeks!!!?? The original plan was for Dell to send out a tech to replace the mother board, remember the machine hasn't hit its 1 month birthday yet and already parts are being changed out. I made enough of a stink and they sent me a new unit. Sounds simple but honestly for the money I paid I should not have to worry about traveling back and forth to fedex which is not around my area. Again seems simple enough, wait. So now I am out a computer and have to wait ANOTHER few weeks to get the new unit. Finally get it, but wait now I start getting harassing e-mails and phone calls demanding I return the old one. Well what the heck I did return it the moment they sent me a label which via e-mail I had to ask for 3 times.. Unfortunately and this is shame on me for thinking things would run smoothly I did not keep the receipt. So back out to fedex to solve the issue. after an hour or so we figure out the machine did indeed arrive at dell and was signed for by Mc so and so....(I will leave the full name out). So back on the phone with dell to sort out that problem. Now I have my new computer the other issues are behind me, but wait the BRAND NEW unit they just sent me has the same exact issue with the fans. Freezing issues and heat problem. What are the odds that both computers would display the same problems? Pretty good if Dell is using cheap parts and cutting corners. So back on the phone with Dell. took them 2 tries and 2 visits from the tech to correctly diagnose the problem. As we speak a tech is sitting at my table replacing parts on a 1.5 month alienware laptop. Not for nothing but many of you know that the techs only come during normal business hours. So 2 times now I have had to leave work early to make sure i am home in time for the tech. I bought my wife a Lenovo a while back and not one issue. It has been a truly solid laptop. So if anyone reads this and is thinking about buying and alienware please do so with caution. I cant imagine I am the only one seeing these issues. I work in IT and notice things that most people do not. You may already have a problem and don't know it. These computers are using cheap faulty parts. Be careful
