When Iinstalled 8.1 in my R4 I started having problems with lights and fans. I worked on the problem for many weeks without success. I finaly contacted Alienware support who said that they do not support 8.1. Because a few days before Dell added 8.1 in their new drivers section I found a bit strange the comment of alienware more so after Dell released a new command center for 8.1. But the new command center did nothing for me either, my fans still went crasy and lighting did not work also.. I contacted Dell support and they said that they support 8.1 ??? Why Alienware did not ???? DEll took control of my machine and said that I had problem with overheating and the I/o card, so even if I was not convinced that the overheating was real due to the malfunctioning of command center a tech came the next day, changed the card and the liquid cooling part and now the system is working perfectly after a few weeks.
