Upgrading from regular hard drive to solid state drive!!
I have an alienware m15x and I want to upgrade to a solid state drive. As we all know, computer company don't send us customers the OS disc anymore, they just include like a reboot/recovery/respawn disc(alienware edition). My question is how do I get my new SSD started if I don't have an OS disc to boot up from? Can i just use my "respawn" disc that alienware gave me? Or should I download a program that lets me take an image of my current hard drive to transfer over to my new SSD? I need help asap. Thanks if anyone knows a good way to do it without doing too much. I tried to contact dell, but they don't tech for Alienware and when I called Alienware, the tech guy knows little english so making it hard for us to communicate on this matter.

I'm not aware of any free software. If there are any you might find it by searching the web.

Easeus disk copy is free. Go to there website for other options also.
Ahhhhh thank you guys so much. Most ssd don't come with their own software but intel did. I saw most laptop ssd, needed a USB to Sata wire which most companies that make that, has their own software but pricey. But I went with intel to be on the safe side and they offered their own cloning software.

You are refering to the The Intel® Data Migration Software.
This software is a scaled down version of Aconics software for migrating your current HDD to your new SSD. It isn't capable of backing up your drive on a routine basis or restoring your SSD in the future should you need to do so.

Buy an external back-up drive, format it, install Acronis back-up software on your computer, and make a complete disc back-up.
Make a bootable disc with the Acronis software and you can then install your HDD onto your new SSD.
