What does this mean? (M17x R2)
Last night I shut down as usual however, this morning when arriving in my office to switch on the laptop the Alien head on the lid was illuminated. "That's odd!" I thought, "I know it was completely shut down when I left last night."
Opening the lid, I could see it was indeed switched off but the power button was blinking. I attempted to fire it up anyway and it is working however; can anyone tell me what this means please?
Incidentally, mousing over the battery/charger icon it says "94% available (plugged-in not, charging)". Does that mean I have a charging problem or is the battery dying on me?

Thanks for your input jmrowley. I spoke with Dell support this morning and after doing a diagnostic they decided the charger was faulty and are sending me a new one.

No you have to shut down the system, unplug the power cord from both the wall and the laptop till the blue light shuts off, and remove the battery for a couple minutes...then replace the battery into the laptop and plug it back in and when you start it back up it should show the battery charging...it is a glitch with the m17r2's if you have upgraded your video driver from the oem driver...best not to upgrade from the original.
