I would like to know if you are getting this error message after any hardware/software changes. Also check if you have inserted any floppy disc in the floppy drive. In case you have any floppy disc, remove and check.

Please reset BIOS defaults and this should resolve the issue. To go to BIOS restart the system and at Dell logo tap the F2 key every two seconds.  Press Alt + F and load defaults. Save and exit from the BIOS screen and check.

Revert with the status.

but i've found this solution on forum but doesn't work cause SLOT 4 doesn't work check this picture below

and it's attached with hard disk SLOT 4 :(

after i check SLOT 4 is attached with cable to HARD DISK so OS cannot start durning all night i re-instaled battery cmos

nothing changed the same problem

If there is no onboard video it should beep.

The Precision 390 DOES NOT HAVE 4 PCI Express slots.

Unplug all cables and press power to discharge any residual power.

Then Put video card back in.

Then plug in power cord and re attach monitor.

The Dell Precision Workstation 390 parts page list the following motherboards -
DY150 Motherboard Service Kit, PWS390, (For Cedar Mill and Conroe CPUs)
NP442 Motherboard Service Kit, PWS390, Version 3 (For Kentsfield CPUs)

i have this card in SLOT 4 attached with HARD DISK

in this case (place) connector

i did it the same problem remove the card installed on SLOT 4 but i don't have another IN VGA only cable with monitor is attached on SLOT 4 Nvidia card

I request you to disconnect the card connected to the slot 4 and power on the computer and check the status. Let me know the findings.

I had the problem more like yours, with an "Alert! Error initializing PCI Express slot 1".  My SAS controller is on slot #1 on my board because my workstation is a Precision 490.  Do you have a link to where you learned about swapping out the 2 caps?  Mainly what I would like to know is whether the recommendation was to switch to the 2200µF capacitors or was that just the closest thing to 1500µF you had on hand?  Also, do you know about the pair of wires going to the 4-pin power connector on the SAS board?  This connector can go on either way so I wondered if it matters.

I had the same problem.

Changing the two capacitors on the CS-51 pci card worked fine for me, too.

My Dell Precision 390 runs fine now. Many thanks for your advice!
