Blue Screen ***STOP: 0x00008086 error...
I presently have a Dimension 8400 that daily is giving me a blue screen that under Technical Information displays the following: ***STOP: 0x00008086 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). The only alternative I have is to push the power button to reboot. After rebooting a message screen displays a path which takes me to Intel website to ChipSet screen. I have download and installed the driver for the chipset, however I am still experiencing the STOP: 0x00008086 blue screens.
Are there any suggestions of fixing this issue?
Thanks,

After having read several messages regarding this error I have gone to the Intel home page and downloaded the file Infinst.zip. The chipset on my PC is 925X/XE Express Chipset Family. I have installed the Intel update (Ver 7.0.0.1019 dated 4/18/05) and will report back if the Blue Screen error stops.

- Not necessarily an answer to your problem, but this may help point you in the right direction: http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.php
By chance did you try the Dell January '05 chipset update before installing the one from Intel?
Out of curiousity I've searched Google, AltaVista, Microsoft support, etc., and have yet to find any reference to the "STOP: 0x00008086" code you and apparently others are getting with the D8400's. I'm wondering if it's a Dell BIOS issue with the D8400's. Do you get the BSOD with nothing else connected to your computer other than the mouse and keyboard?
