C:\Windows\Temp Files, Delete?
Is it ok to delete all files in the C:\Windows\Temp directory? Even though my Dimension 4100 is less than a month old and I have installed only 5 programs (Partition Magic, Norton System Works, Power Desk, Netscape Communicator, and Acrobat Reader), there are 11 folders, some with subfolders and files, plus 65 additional files. Three are .exe applications.
One, mmsetup12018, is huge, almost 84 megs. I double clicked it to see what it is. Usually, an application stops to ask if you want to continue installation, what path, or for license approval, but this one just continued without any information or special windows. Install Shield (Norton) indicated it was Regsvr32.exe. Properties called it Microsoft Register server. It was installed in C:\Windows\System, but the file size there was only 37,136. Date is not current, so guess a reinstallation didn't occur. I decided to not experiment further. Any ideas about this application?
