Dimension 3100/E310

Ok...newbie here...I have a Dimension 3100/E310 that has been diagnosed as having a "bad system board" by a 3rd party company. That cost me $79.00. I've spent an hour and a half talking to the Philippines and India. NO ONE can get me a customer service agent here in the US. (BTW...I've been in customer service for about 8 years) I've been online with an off-shore agent. Anyway...my question is...is this normal or acceptable for a computer that is 14 months old? I know...I know...I should have bought the 3yr warranty. Hindsight is 20-20. Any idea what that part would cost? Should I try and push to have Dell repair/replace. Should I just buy a new box? Ok...fire away....and thanks for your help.

Not really sure what your question is???

    1) Is it normal for a MOBO to malfunction after only 14 mths. of use?

    2) Is there any Customer Service support here in the U.S.?

    3) How much would the part cost? Which part?

No more warranty, I would consider going with E-Bay to find another motherboard, cheap, or just save for another better system.  Perhaps a system from Dells Outlet store.  Nice systems with the better technology, for about $450.00 on up without montor, and you get a warranty.

Does this happen from time to time, and the answer is yes, but have not heard of one for a while.

Parts can fail at anytime, hence the reason for extended warranties.

You can buy a replacement motherboard from Dell Spare Parts or from eBay.
