dimension 4300S and microsoft sp2 update

I have a dell dimension 4300S, I just reformatted the hard drive and it worked great until I downloaded and installed the microsoft service pack 2 update.  Now it moves very, very slowly.  Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

    SP2 uses more RAM than SP1. How much RAM do you have? I have seen machines with 128M that didn't work well with SP1, but came to a crawl with SP2.

    Check the task manager to find the "Commit Charge" at the bottom. Compare that to the amount of RAM in your machine.

    At the bottom of the task manager. It is in the status bar.
