You need to run either the Intel Ultra ATA Storage driver or the Intel Application Acelerater. This will set all your drives to their highest DMA settings.

Your system and drives can and will use DMA. Just check the box and restart.

Thanks for the tip.  My Dimension 8200 has been running extremely slow apparently related to DMA.  I tried to defragment and checked for adware/spyware, but to no avail.  I installed the Intel Application Accelerator and now it is running like it used to, about 10X faster.
