E510 Hardware Problems

I am running into a problem where my game freezes periodically during World of Warcraft.  I think I have narrowed down the problem to the Power supply not being large enough to support my video card.  The error I am getting is nv4_disp.  I have a Geforce 7950 GT that shows a need for at least 600W power supply.  My power supply is the factory piece that came with the system, which is 315 Watt.  What would be a good fitting power supply that would support this video card and the current system.

I will be honest however and say that I am at my whits end on this system, I have replaced the HD and a set of ram trying to narrow down this problem.  I have updated my bios, directx and my drivers for the video card.

Any help would be appreciated before I throw it away and buy something better.

Regards,

David.

    I have an E510.

The E510 uses a standard ATX power supply, not a proprietary.  Any good quality supply will work and you may want to consider one of the "modular" types to avoid unused power cable clutter.  You need a power supply with a 24 pin or a 20 plus 4 pin for the primary power connection, plus a 4 pin Molex for the motherboard.  SATA connectors for the hard drive(s) and PATA (IDE) connectors for the CD/DVD drives and I assume a PCIe connector for the video card.

HERE is a Corsair modular from newegg.com

However, the E510 is not a "gaming" PC and the big thing I see with this card is the amount of heat it generates.  The heat may be causing more problems than the power supply, although a higher wattage supply won't hurt.

Thank you for your answer, is there a way to help cool down that card?   I ended up putting a 650W PS in my system that had a fan on the bottom to help cool the video card and other components.  Something else I did was disable the onboard video card through the bios and they seemed to have helped a bit.

There are PCI fan cards that you install like a PCI card that has one or two fans on them.  That would help with the cooling.

    HERE is an example
