Error Messages
I have started to get the message "Wuauclt has caused an error in Wuv31s.dll. This has something to do with the Windows update. When I go to the update page the above message pops up about every minute or so. The update does not want to load and I get the additional message "Iexplore has caused an error in vbscript.dll". Every thing seems to work fine, but these annoying message keep popping up. I did tighten my security settings to disable activeX in the restricted zone. And made Outlook Express more restricted. Would this have anything to do with causing the problem. Now I just got a page fault screen with the first message above, but it didn't progress to the blue screen....very annoying. ME seems to much more unstable than W95. I have only had this computer for about 4 months and it has enough memory and strength to upgrade to XP. Should I. Any suggestions welcome. Virus scan came up clean

To disable Auto Update, go to Start - Settings - Control Panel. Click on View All Control Panel Options on the lft, if they're not already visible, then on Automatic Updates. Put a check in Turn Off Automatic Update, and click OK at the bottom. No more auto-update. Just remember to check in at Windows Update periodically and look for the Critical stuff. Everything else is optional.
To get rid of a lot of other unnecessary stuff that runs automatically, go here.
