Floppy Drive

I bought a new hard drive for my Dell 8300. I did a clean install of windows XP home and then I installed the chipset drivers and then the network drivers. I finished loading the drivers and additional software.

The problem I'm having is with the floppy drive. Every twenty minutes of so the computer looks to the floppy and you hear the floppy drive turn. There is nothing in the drive. I've looked for a floppy driver that I may have missed installing but I can't find anything. Any thoughts???

thanks, Dave

It may be your Virus software is periodically performing a scan and checking to see if there is a disk in the drive. If you have recently copied something from a floppy it is in your 'recently used' file list, and that is where your virus software is getting the info from.
