Help please
I had the Wscript/Kak.worm virus. Think I'm finally rid of it but.... I ran McAfee VirusScan specifying to scan all files. It detects no viruses so I am free of the virus, right?
I am using Windows 98 & Outlook Express. How do I delete mail in my inboxs etc without it opening the mail & re-infecting my computer?
How do you prevent Outlook Express from automatically opening the first message in your inbox when you click on read mail?
How often should I update my antivirus software, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly? How often does McAfee release updates?

I discovered something that might be important about this virus.
I started Outllok Express then chose TOOLS | OPTIONS | SIGNATURES then looked down at the bottom of the tab where it says Edit Signatures
File had a dot in the bubble & beside that in the box I found C:\windows\kak.htm
I'm not absolutely sure but I think this is what tells the virus to attach itself to your outgoing email. Maybe checking here is another way to tell if you have the WScript/Kak.worm virus

Disable the Message Preview window. You can then simply delete the message from the message list.

Again, disable the preview window.
Change the display of the preview pane
You might also consider disabling scripting in OE.
How to Disable Active Scripting in Outlook Express

- release updates?
McAfee typically releases updates on Thursday, I believe, if they are going to release one that week.
