logitech mx3200keyboard problem

system is xps 350 running windows xp, memory 768
New wireless keyboard won't function in the "windows advanced options menu". I hit f8 at start up (it works) and get to the menu page. "Start up windows normally" is highlighted, but when I hit enter nothing happens. If I try to use the arrow keys to highlight a different function nothing moves.

As an experiment I rebooted and entered the bios. Here the keys functioned properly. Again the keyboard works fine in windows proper.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks, Jimbos

Sounds like you are losing the USB ports in this menu. Make sure you are using the latest version of Setpoint. This may help but may not, as it is somewhat of a hardware problem if Windows or the bios is losing the USB ports. When you get to that menu, you can also try removing the USB key and re-inserting it. Finally, in the bios make sure Legacy USB support is turned on. After that I am out of ideas. I have one of these and it works fine most of the time.

Thank you for your help. I replaced the bios battery a few months ago and never realized the :egacy ports were disabled. Enableing them solved the problem immediately. Jimbos
