I have been experiencing what I think are memory issues. If I leave my PC idle for about 2 hours, my available memory resources go down from 61% to 6%, thus causing software lock ups - non specific (not just a game). I can also end all programs running to buy an hour or so before whatever program I am using locks up the system.

Originally, the core issue was my PC would NOT shut off without manually turning the PC off. Thus, I bought Norton System Works and it fixed 120 problems or so. Ironically it did NOT fix this issue. Approximately 1 month later I have experienced a progressively growing problem to the point now that my PC locks up once an hour.

I then uninstalled Norton System Works leaving only the firewall and antivirus. All software and drivers are up to date. All diagnotistic programs show everything is ok.

Even now, runnig only explorer, firewall, and antivirus I have reduced available memory down from 61% to 36% in abour 1/2 hour.

Please help.
