Memory Read Write Error, Decreasing Available Memory.
When I reboot, I get an error message that says Memory Read Write Error, Decreasing Available Memory. On several occasions, it has truncated certain things, often with a .exe extentsion. I don't know what caused this. Only change I made was to add an external portable hard drive about 4 months ago. Need to figure out if this can be readily repaired or if I have to get a new computer. Thanks!

I would say that it is a memory issue with your system I am going to send you a PM with some info that may help you out.

1. reseat the RAM. That might fix it. If the contacts look "dirty", you can clean them with a clean eraser. Make sure to remove the eraser debris before reinstalling.
2. test the RAM to see if it is bad (do this after 1). You can use the Dell diagnostics or memtest86+ (free and better).
