moderator?
I just recently got a Dimension 8400 with a X800 SE video card, and I've been experiencing opengl related problems such as the ones which were discussed here a few weeks ago, as you're probably aware, the only known fix for this issue is to replace the video card, and the reason that I'm addressing you is that the tech support people from Dell I've been talking to are giving me a hard time with the card replacement, I know they have to follow some guidelines and policies, which is why I agreed to reinstall windows, latest directx, ati drivers and so on, even though I had done just that before calling them, and even when I have proved that the computer crashes on games after I did everything they told me to, they (dell latin america tech support, I am in Mexico) are still claiming it is a software issue and that they cannot replace my card because of that, I have no other source to prove the fix for this problem since the X800 SE is a Dell exclusive part, and these tech support people just downplay me when I mention that I saw in these forums that the problem can be fixed this way, they say I can't base my claims on comments I saw on "some forums", now, this is within dell's official homepage, these are dell's official community forums and I've also noticed that they are tightly moderated and that the mods are actual dell people.
My question is, why am I having such a hard time getting my card replaced? when I posted a question on this same forum about the issue, someone told me to just have my card replaced and it would be as easily fixed, and the other people who had their cards (I'm assuming most of them are from the USA?) replaced didn't mention it was going to be a nightmare with the tech support people, or do they have it easier up there?
Right now I'm looking for the threads where such thing is discussed, to mail to the tech support guy and see if he believes me this is not just some forum where people with too much time on their hands come and pretend to have X800 cards and get them replaced easily, and the mods are dell people themselves and know their stuff, plus, he asked me about names of the tech people moderating these forums, and if you could be so kind as to reply to this thread with your name, so I can show him along with the other threads, or maybe I can tell the tech guy to get in contact with you to verify this proposed fix I'm not faking?
This is my first dell computer and I choose them because I know they have a high rate of customer satisfaction, and I'm trying to do whatever I can to fix this and everyone will be happy, so I appreciate your help, moderator.

I cant understand why Dell is giving you so much trouble when they obviously know some of these cards are defective.I know that Dell offers to replace your system for a new one if problems arise (first 30 days). If you cant get them to replace your video card demand a new system or your money back!!! Dont leave this issue unresolved....
