Precision 690 Mixed steppings CPU's
Hello,
I have a Dell Precison 690 workstation with a single dual core Xeon 5150 cpu. I was wanting to add in the second cpu, but was not sure if I had to match the exact steppings that is currently in there? My BIOS version is currently A3, but I can always upgrade that. I just was wondering if that board would support mixed steppings of the same processor? Thanks

I asked Enterprise Support and he said the steppings need to match. Here is the Dell part number for what you have in there now -
NR170 Woodcrest Xeon Kit, 5150, 2.66G, 4MB, 1066FSB, B2
