Problems with display after Windows XP Reinstall?
HI,
I have just reinstalled my copy of windows xp on a Dell dimension 2300, all went well except:
My problem now is installing the correct drivers for my monitor/ graphics card, (i think)
When i check in >Device Manager>Other Devices,
'Multimedia controller', 'PCI device', 'sm bus controller', 'universal serial bus controller'
all have no drivers installed.
The monitor is the only new component to the original Dell set up.
I cannot update the monitor through Display Properties>Advanced>Monitor, as the Properties tab is greyed out and unclickable.
Any advice appreicated!:smileyhappy:

Go HERE for the proper procedure on reinstalling drivers. There is no System software listed for you system in the Drivers and Downloads page so you can skip that one
The errors you are seeing is because your chipset is not installed and the operating system cannot properly communicate with your motherboard hardware

Thanks guys. Its mostly sorted now. Just having problems with my PCI network adaptor , Its a TP Link TF-3283 I can't seem to load the drivers for this, even with the disc that came with it. It just won't find them, either on auto search , or when i brose fir the correct folder
I had problems with this before i reinstalled windows XP, and the problem doesn't seen to have gone.
Is it worth buying another card? It Was up and running previous to the xp reinstall, for a short time. Since the reinstall , no luck.
Should a modern network card work ok an a dell dimension 2300, it is about 8 years old?
Cheers
