RPC Vulnerability/W32.Blaster.Worm

Anyone who had the Microsoft RPC problem may be infected with the W32.Blaster.Worm and should update their anti-virus software and follow the procedures for removing the worm.  Remember to disable System Restore before doing your virus scan.   The Symantec site has a good explanation and procedures for doing all this including editing the registry.  Good luck.

    I cannot get rid of this thing!  I've tried to follow the Semantech steps but for some reason I can't do all of the parts.  First my Norton Anti Virus wouldn't allow me to delete the files infected - I had to quarantine them.  Is that good enough?  I don't know anything about this stuff.  Then I tried to make a backup before following the final instructions, and it wouldn't complete the backup.  HELP!  Does anyone know how to fix this????

    Eww...this worm won't even let me download patch via windowsupdate due to DoS.. lol

    What's RPC?  What are the symptoms of this worm?  Thanks!
