Sound card

my sound card is not working.I did a system restore using the three CD's i received when i bought my DEll dimension 2300. i would like to know how to get it working. thank you

    try to download the driver from support.dell.com :smileywink:

    How did you perform the restore?  The process is to boot from the Windows XP reinstallation CD, delete the old NTFS (C: ) partition, create a new partition in its place, and instruct the setup program to install Windows, hitting the enter key to begin formatting.  After installation, if you have a Dell Resource Disk, you insert the CD into the drive, allow the application to install, and install the drivers that have checkmarks by them.  You must install one at a time in this order:  Chipset Installation Utility, Video adapter driver, Network adapter driver, Sound adapter driver, and any remaining drivers you require in the order of your choice.  Unless you have a reinstallation CD that already contains Service Pack 2 you should then apply the Service Pack 2 update.  Follow all this by installation of your anti virus software and any other applications you require.
