STOP Message
Three times in a week (including today where it happened twice), my Dimensions 4550 running WIndows XP has displayed a blue screen of death with the STOP message of:
0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x804E37EE, 0xF600F8A0, 0x00000000)
Then it says it's beginning a dump of physical memory.
What can I do to fix this?
Thanks.

If you think it is the module, there is is dell diagnostics for memory, why not run it before you buy a new module?atrautweiler

If it's random, sounds like one of your memory modules is dying. Does it happen when your using the same program? If so make sure everything is updated...program, XP, etc...Thanks.
The blue screen instructions were about checking for adequate disk space and if I got this stop message displayed more than once to contact someone. It gave the STOP message I entered in my first message. Then it said it was beginning a dump of physical memory. So, I'll just wait until I get another blue screen and copy the whole thing down and see if I can go on from there.
Thanks for all the help.
- A STOP message of: 0x0000008E could be a number of issues. Usually when you get a Blue Screen it will also have more information on it. Sometimes it will show the name of a certain file like a driver file or something like that. The best thing to do when you get a blue screen is write down all the information that the error report is showing. Then try posting more information supplied in the error report. For an example click this link.

Thanks. Is there any way to replace a memory module?
