System freezing up
My computer recently has picked up this problem where when I let the computer sit idle for an extended period of time (usually somewhere beteween 10 and 30 minutes) the computer will freeze up. The weird thing about it is that when it does, it sends a signal to the monitor (I know this because I have it set up where my monitor shuts off after 10 minutes and when this happens my monitor comes back on) but all that appears on the monitor is a black screen. I try hitting CTRL+ALT+ESC but it does nothing. The only option I have is to manually power down the computer. Upon restarting, the stupid thing works like the day I bought it. Ive messed around with all the power settings to see if maybe there was a problem in the automatic monitor shutdown or the harddrive shutdown or the suspend or the hibernation....but they all work fine.

You're not alone. My 8250 has been doing something very similar on bootup. I get the same problem where everything is powered up (except my mouse) with a black screen. My only option has been to hold the power button in until it shuts off, and reboot. Everything works fine after that. The funny thing is, it never seems to happen when I it boot up and start using my machine immediately, only if I start my machine walk away and leave it idle for awhile (well I haven't it caught it doing this anyway).
I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm going to try troubleshooting my peripherals by uninstalling them and reinstalling, though I don't have any conflicts in device manager.
I did restore my system partition recently (c: is windows and programs only on my machine). That may have had some impact.
If anyone else has run in to this, chime in.
