System Not waking Up

I have a OptiPlex 7440 AIO. I have set the power settings to never sleep and never for the monitor.

The monitor will go off after awhile also the computer will not sleep for a few hours too. However, after I lock the screen for the day and return the next morning the only way in is to power off and on. What am I missing on the settings?

    System Not waking Up
Make sure that all your device drivers are up-to-date. If not, then update your drivers.

2] Use Windows Power Troubleshooter and see if it is able to diagnose and fix your problem automatically.

2] Start Windows in Clean Boot State and see if problem disappears. If so then some program or process is interfering with resumption from Sleep. Try to identify the process.

3] For your Keyboard and Mouse, ensure that the Allow this device to wake the computer setting is checked.

You will see this setting in the devices Properties box, under Power Management tab.

4] Open an elevated command prompt window, type the following command and hit Enter:

    powercfg –devicequery wake_armed
This will list devices that are currently configured to wake the computer from any sleep state.

    Next run:

    powercfg –lastwake
This will give you information about the event that woke the computer from the last sleep transition.
5] If Hybrid Sleep is enabled, it is known to cause such problems.

    computer will not sleep

In the Put the computer to sleep box, select a new value such as 15 minutes. However, make sure that you do not select Never. Then, click Change advanced power settings. Expand Sleep, expand Allow waker timers, and then select Disable.

    Hi Jackie Butler,

Thanks for writing to us. When did the issue start? Please let  know the windows version.

Have you tried updating the BIOS and video drivers and then set the power settings again. Also under advanced power settings, checked for hybrid sleep option, ensure its set as per your requirement.

Do provide us your system tag# email address and name via private message.

    await your response

Changes were made in the BIOS by the recommendation of pro support. that seemed to work. Settings were under the power management area. Service request number is: <ADMIN NOTE: service request number removed per privacy policy>
